Sonnet of Reflection

You were intertwined in my thoughts, my heart

influenced how I viewed my inner self

I could not separate the end, the start

of where you began and I stop. I delve

into the past. I have loved. I have lost,

but I did not have to amputate my

heart. Sanity did not become the cost

I paid when you left. Thousand tears I cried.

Now, I am whole again. I realize you

were never as you appeared to be. I

deceived myself, created you untrue.

I am partly to blame. The pain, the lie

could have been avoided if I took time

to reflect, to find your reason and rhyme.
